08.07.2021

It is already the second half of the year: Time for some imc Learning Suite updates! But we don’t just want to give you some details about Innovation Pack 14.10, we also want to share some insights into our vision for the imc Learning Suite (iLS) in the near future.

But first, let's have a look at the new IP 14.10 features at a glance:

  • 24/7 proctoring with Examity: Customers can now use Examity within the iLS around the clock. This leading proctoring service will be connected via API providing a seamless integration into the LMS. Examity is the first proctoring solution which fulfils common data privacy directives.

  • Smoother User Experience with seamless Cisco WebEx integration: The imc Learning Suite will provide a WebEx Connector for seamless Cisco WebEx Meetings and from now on also online training within the LMS.

This new capability makes organising On-the-Job training even smoother, saving time whilst setting up training events and enabling more individualised task lists.

What we are also working on...

There are two main topics, which we believe are crucial for the future of corporate learning: Learning Analytics and Learning Experience. These focus topics keep us busy these days and we're intensively working on them to present you with some more details as soon as possible. With IP 14.9 Shopify enters imc Learning Suite

Push notifications, open badges and Shopify interface: The imc learning management system is presenting these and other innovative features in the first quarter. Above all, the new features are promising an improved user experience.

23.02.2021

Online shops were already booming before corona: The number of companies integrating a direct shop into their learning management system (LMS) is increasing. More often than not, Shopify is the platform of choice for the creation of such e-commerce shops.

That’s reason enough for us to provide an interface between the imc Learning Suite (ILS) and Shopify. In the latest ILS version, Innovation Pack 14.9, this interface can be booked as an optional feature.

But that’s not all! New features also include the following:

  • Portable open badges: The ILS can now issue standards-compliant badges. These digital badges certify skills and achievements, and are issued to learners when they meet certain criteria.
The new function allows learners to access and download their badges directly, and upload them into an open digital backpack. From there, the learner can share their badge anywhere.
  • Attendance tracking via QR code: Personal QRs make it happen. Learners and tutors both save time on attendance registration and control.
What’s more, tutors can compare the QR code information against the user information in the system, and make changes on the level of course progress or curriculum elements as necessary.
  • WBT import in xAPI or Tin Can format: The ILS now also supports these popular output formats to SCORM that are frequently used by leading content creation tools.
  • Push notifications for new learning nuggets: Administrators can now use push notifications to inform learners of any new or updated learning nuggets included in a course.
  • Improved effectiveness check: The effectiveness check – or 180° feedback – already included in IP 14.7 has been extended. Now, individuals from either side – course participants or supervisors – can give feedback on a course without the other party being required to do the same.

Michael Schlothauer, Head of Product Management for the imc Learning Suite, is confident: “We stated that our clear goal for 2021 was to offer an even better user experience. The focus is on our customers’ needs, and with IP 14.9, we have taken an important step in this direction. Especially the push notifications and the improved effectiveness check contribute greatly to targeted learning and ensuring transfer from learning to real-life application.”

imc AG is the leading full-service provider according to mmb’s E-Learning Economy survey

The independent mmb Institute publishes the only annual market survey on the German e-learning industry in its mmb Branchenmonitor survey. The survey takes a look at developments in industry revenues, number of employees, e-learning business sectors and the provider landscape, and imc is the full-service provider with the highest turnover.

Saarbruecken, 10.12.2020

The independent, private research and consulting institute, mmb Institute, put the development of the e-learning industry in Germany under the microscope for the 13th time. The 2019 figures from 40 providers of education were assessed with regard to the development of their sales volume, number of employees and share of turnover in the e‑learning business sectors. This was used to create a ranking of the most important German e‑learning providers.

Compared to the previous year, imc improved its overall ranking by two places and achieved the third highest turnover. This makes imc the most successful full service provider offering both learning technologies and individual learning content and consulting.

The Branchenmonitor survey first shows the total turnover followed by a breakdown into six additional sub-categories which are sorted according to business sector. imc secured 1st place in the "creation/enhancement of digital learning content" category. The Saarland-based provider also consistently ranks among the leaders in other fields such as "adaptation services for e‑learning content and software" or "tools for e-learning".

As emphasised by Sven R. Becker of the imc Executive Board, who is pleased with the positive result, "Our approach of offering client-oriented technologies has paid off. We are the full‑service provider with the highest turnover, which demonstrates that the market demands holistic strategic support."

Innovation Pack 14.8

imc Learning Suite adds further value at the end of the year, especially for administering courses

The new functions of the imc Learning Suite will especially make administrators happy: the administration of courses will be simpler, clearer and faster. In addition, it is now possible to create automated certificates with individual corporate design.

10.12.2020

Let the year slowly fade away? Not really our style! Shortly before the end of the year, the Innovation Pack 14.8 brings some new features to the imc Learning Suite.

Training management has now become easier due to the following changes:

  • Task list: with the task list you can easily tick off items and save recurring tasks as templates even when creating complex training scenarios.
  • Scale organisational processes: the Enrolment Form Manager allows an easier customization of the configuration settings for registration forms.
  • Test activation via PIN: with this feature, tests can only be started by entering a PIN. This ensures correct identification of all participants.
  • Certificate templates: you can automatically design all certificates to reflect your corporate style.
  • User panels: this feature simplifies the search for contact persons.
Der Vorstand der imc AG

imc board member Christian Wachter is satisfied: "By implementing these new features at the end of the year we have achieved our goal of simplifying the user experience for both users and administrators. We will continue to work in this direction in 2021.”

Innovation Pack 14.7: 180° feedback enables individual learning strategy

The new functions of the imc Learning Suite allow learners to gain an easier overview of acquired learning success, performance and planned courses. With the new 180° course feedback it is even more easy to adapt learning strategies to individual needs.

29.09.2020

Not every learner finds courses equally meaningful, and supervisors may also have a different view on the effectiveness of further education programmes. However, it has proved difficult to reflect this in learning management systems (LMS) and to evaluate courses in a targeted manner.

But that will change with the Innovation Pack 14.7 of imc Learning Suite. The 180° feedback enables both course participants and the respective supervisor to evaluate completed courses regarding their effectiveness for employees.

Furthermore, the latest version of the LMS allows learning activities to be more clearly displayed and rewarded. With the up-skilling function, the learner receives points as soon as a milestone is reached and thus sees immediate learning success. Previously, these only became visible after completing the entire module.

A further innovation is the "Wish List for Courses". As many customers today have such a large selection of digital learning content, it is often difficult for learners to decide which course to select. If an interesting course catches their attention but they can’t or don’t want to attend right now, they can add it to a wish list in their own learning area and thus keep an eye on the course.

Photo of Sven Becker

Sven R. Becker, imc board member summarises: "With the new features of Innovation Pack 14.7, we are significantly improving the learning experience for learners.

We make learning successes immediately visible to make learning even more sustainable. Altogether, the digitisation of learning activities will thus become easier, better and more efficient".

Microsoft Teams integration for imc Learning Suite now available

Virtual collaboration and learning become easier with the
Innovation Pack 14.5

12.08.2020

With more than 75 million daily users, Microsoft Teams is one of the most popular tools for virtual teamwork and video conferencing worldwide. The tool can be seamlessly integrated into the infrastructure of Microsoft Office applications - and now also into the Learning Management System (LMS) of imc AG.  With this combination of learning and collaboration platform, companies elevate their Modern Workplace to the next level.

Integrating learning into the everyday life of the employees and making it as uncomplicated as possible: this is the challenge facing many LnD professionals.  The seamless connection of the two systems now enables learning in the app that employees use all the time anyway to exchange information with colleagues, working together on projects or holding virtual meetings. "The imc Learning Suite will thus become even more flexible, effective and an integral part of a modern, digital workplace for all users," says Christian Wachter, CEO of imc, delighted with the new feature of the Innovation Pack 14.5.

Furthermore, the integration simplifies the collaboration. Amongst other things, learners can exchange and support each other directly in teams, for example, about course content, recommend or curate learning content.
