Tips and tricks for other software
Microsoft PowerPoint
The LECTURNITY Assistant can be started directly from PowerPoint. LECTURNITY supports PowerPoint 97, 2000, 2002, XP, 2003.
Tip: You should make yourself familiar with the functions of PowerPoint. Often, users are not aware of useful features. You should also make yourself familiar with the annotation tools offered by LECTURNITY for working in the slides during your lecture: With the Textmarker you can mark important points on your slides in different colours. This means the audience can follow your lecture more easily in the lecture hall or also later on the screen. You can draw or write comments in your slides at any time using different coloured pens. LECTURNITY also records these changes during the recording. However, it is recommended that you use a pen-based_input_device to do this, as the mouse gives you insufficient control of your handwriting. It is also useful to use the pointer during your recording, to steer the learner's attention to the important slide content. Image-editing programs
Before inserting graphics and images in your PowerPoint graphics, you should edit them to ensure optimal quality and also the smallest possible file size.
LECTURNITY also allows you to integrate image files (BMP, GIF, JPG, etc.) in your recording, that are not embedded in your slides. There are a range of programs available for image editing.

Programs for audio editing
The sound quality is often less than optimal during a recording, especially if the presentation is being given in a lecture hall or seminar room with a relatively high noise level. LECTURNITY allows you to export the audio file of your recording to optimise its quality. One way of doing this is using the freeware Audacity. This offers many ways of amplifying the sound, filtering out background noise or incorporating background music into your recording.
Video-editing programs
