Successfully surviving the crisis with standard learning content

We are all currently in the midst of the greatest economic crisis of the past century and many companies are implementing massive cost-cutting measures – from which training budgets have not been spared. Some years ago, when the dotcom bubble burst, we were confronted with a similar situation. At that time, Austrian insurance companies were forced to reduce their training costs while simultaneously continuing to provide high-quality basic training for their insurance advisors.

Together with experts in the insurance industry, we produced over 30 hours of high-quality e-learning courses as preparation for the compulsory broker exams. The content of this basic training ranged from entertaining scenes of exaggerated contractual insurance law to the individual aspects of insurance such as life, accident, property and cars, in addition to special topics such as health insurance. A pool of over 1000 questions enabled the simulation of a real broker examination, thereby significantly increasing users’ chances of passing the exam on the first attempt.

In the meantime, all reputable Austrian insurance companies have started using this learning content, not only for training their field workers but also for office workers, insurance brokers and agents. A subscription option ensures that the learning content is always up-to-date, which is necessary due to, for example, constantly changing legal conditions.

Learning can either take place though the Learning Management System CLIX or offline using the CLIX Learnbase, which is installed on field workers’ laptops. This ensures that the learning content is updated automatically and learning progress data is synchronised on the central learning management system.

The courses are also available as an ASP solution for smaller insurance companies, independent insurance brokers and individuals with a private interest in the topics.

Insurance companies can no longer be without this standard learning content. In addition to potential savings of 60% of the costs in comparison to conventional training methods, they also provide a consistently high level of training quality.

This history of success is repeating itself in the current economic crisis, both for our customers and for IMC, such as in the case of the standard learning content “shqa certified medical representative” for the pharmaceutical industry. If you have also identified opportunities to develop standard learning content in your sector, please get in touch. Perhaps we will go on to jointly write another chapter of success in the area of standard learning content.
