De La Rue introduces IMC learning platform

CLIX process excellence: a critical factor in the decision of a company which specialises in currency, security products and cash systems

De La Rue has introduced new products in the ATM industry and banknote and coin counter sectors, mainly within the framework of presence training. However, worldwide operation makes this process comparatively involved. In order to accelerate the product launch training campaigns, the company will now make increased use of blended learning packages.

Initially these will be offered on the German, Swiss and American sites. In the medium term it is planned to extend the offer to business partner users worldwide (ie the bank) in addition to the approximately 6,200-strong workforce within the different divisions of De La Rue. The platform will be operated as an ASP solution in the preliminary phase.

"De La Rue is faced with the challenge of coordinating the training schedules of employees and customers worldwide, while achieving an overall improvement in processes, resource utilisation and training outcomes", explains Robert Hugentobler, Chief Learning Officer of De La Rue Cash Systems. "In the course of our evaluation process IMC – due not least to its impressive availability and informative approach – managed to convince us that a learning management system like CLIX is a central element of process excellence in corporate training. Discovering that the introduction came within the proposed budget and very comprehensive services were offered for a relatively small project confirmed us in our decision to use IMC".

Dr Wolfgang Kraemer, Chair of the Executive Board of IMC, has this to say about IMC's new customers: "Companies like De La Rue, which although not particularly large in terms of workforce size operate globally as hidden champions in their industry, and place a great deal of importance on business process efficiency, are further evidence of the fact that learning management packages are not just special solutions for large groups. Medium-sized companies with complex products and international reach also have a particular need for training process improvements. This is why our solution, which can be flexibly adapted to suit training department processes, trounced our American competitors once again at De La Rue”.
