CLIX in the driving seat at Continental

New learning platform for the tyres division, ContiSmartLearning, makes a good start

Saarbrücken, 7. February 2007 – Continental AG, worldwide one of the leading manufacturers of tyres and suppliers for the automotive sector, has just implemented the learning management system CLIX from the leading German provider of learning technologies IMC AG. ContiSmartLearning will mainly deliver product and sales trainings for truck tyres.

The rollout of the learning management system for marketing and sales of truck tyres was initiated during an international workshop at Continental. ContiSmartLearning provides information about products, technology and marketing of truck tyres. The platform was developed for an international team of trainers and supports the exchange of knowledge and experience. By giving reasons and building up subject matter expertise CLIX helps the sales force to be prepared for daily business.

Based on the leading learning management system CLIX from the German learning technologies company IMC AG the platform is designed for a quick, profound, but also entertaining learning experience. Available in eight languages ContiSmartLearning is customised to the challenges of the sales and marketing team that derived from customers’ needs in Europe and world wide. In ten topics CLIX delivers detailed knowledge about truck tyres, conveyance markets, competitive environment, products and services of Continental AG, technical information about trucks, and marketing issues.

Mr. Herbert Mensching, Director Marketing and Sales Truck Tyres at Continental, is convinced that ContiSmartLearning accelerates sales performance: "This tool is an important investment in the portfolio and development of the premium brand Continental. Continental AG realised the project together with its long-term service agency ICONnewmedia from Braunschweig (Germany). ICONnewmedia was responsible for the selection process, the implementation at Continental, the design and implementation of the learning processes, the production and integration of learning contents in eight languages, the rollout, as well as the operation and editorial administration of ContiSmartLearning. On the basis of an intensive training by IMC ICONnewmedia was also responsible for the training of Continental’s instructors.

IMC’s was responsible for the delivery of CLIX, the customisation of the defined learning processes, and operates as a “software as a service” partner for Continental’s learning platform.
