Description of the Project
The Training and Knowledge Management Department of the EuropeAid Cooperation Office has decided to implement e-learning into their training and knowledge management activities for all employees of the European Commission in Brussels and approx. 100 EC delegations worldwide. IMC's learning and content management system CLIX was selected for the provision and controlling of the respective e-learning activities. Thus CLIX serves as an externally hosted e-learning solution - internally named "EuropeAid e-Campus" for the EuropeAid Cooperation Office.
Since 03/2007 the platform is available and the e-Campus team is trained to deliver various online training modules for processes, methods and special topics in the area of development co-operation (target group: 5,000 people) via the EuropeAid e-Campus. In 2007 various training modules have been succesfully piloted and deployed, among others an online training for environmental mainstreaming in EC development co-operation.
IMC provided consultancy services to the EuropeAid Cooperation Office for initialisation and implementation of the training delivery, IT and organisational integration of the technical solution in January and February 2007. After this initialisation phase the system was technically ready for operation and the responsible administrators and IT specialists at EuropeAid Cooperation Office were well trained for running the solution. A pilot phase to test the system with the help of various voluntarily participating delegations was carried out by EuropeAid in March / April 2007. This pilot aimed at validating the implemented technical and teaching options before undertaking more ambitious deployment in all the Delegations.
The solution will be hosted, maintained and technically supported by IMC over the whole contract period as a 24 hour / 7 days per week service.
