After 3-years activity in the clothing and textile industry, last as head of the development and construction unit, Gisela Woerner transferred to Siemens AG in 1970 to the central business management and information technology unit.

After this her area of responsibility was in the field of software sales, consultancy and industry and trade with the focus on production planning and control (PPS).
Between 1982 and 1989 she was product manager for the development and market launch of the industry standard software lines of Siemens AG. In 1989, she took over as area manager for industrial consultancy at CSC Ploenzke AG.

In 1996, she became area manager and CIO at VIAG AG and with the merger of VEBA/VIAG she assumed this task and responsibility for the E.ON Group. Mrs Woerner retired from this position in 2005.
