Although Business Performance Management and Business Process Management share the same abbreviation (BPM) and both are intended to boost corporate performance, they take different approaches. Business Process Management is about optimizing an organization’s specific business processes and focuses more on operational aspects, while Business Performance Management is more global, but also more intangible given its emphasis on financial data. Because the financial indicators for a given period are the result of the business processes executed, the two concepts are closely related.
